This Saturday, another operation to remove unexploded ordnance will begin at the construction site of a retail park on Staroszkolna Street in Bolesławiec. Therefore, another evacuation has been ordered.
Why will there be another operation?
Sappers from Explosive Ordnance Disposal Patrol No. 23 of the 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment in Bolesławiec:
During the previous operation, we were unable to check 100% of the area where the explosive objects were located because continuing the work risked damaging the high-voltage power line that we had reached. We had to stop the work.
Now that the power line has been secured, we will continue checking the same area, but we want to dig much deeper into the embankment because we suspect that individual explosive objects or their components may be located there.
And they emphasize:
Our sappers’ work at this site will definitively eliminate the potential threat posed by explosive and dangerous objects of military origin, so that local residents can feel safe in the future.
