Last month, two women from Strzelce County received text messages from a sender impersonating a bailiff. In the message, the fraudster wrote about the recipients’ alleged debts. It also contained a link to a website that was supposed to facilitate repayment of the debt.
Example of a fake message:
The bailiff asks for the voluntary settlement of a debt amounting to PLN 1.78. If we do not record the payment, proceedings will begin dlugkrd.ml.
Or:
The bailiff announces the commencement of proceedings due to the non-payment of a debt amounting to PLN 2.37. Voluntary repayment is possible here dluznik-pl.tk/154431.

We appeal to everyone to exercise particular caution with text messages encouraging recipients to click a link included in them to make even small payments. These links may lead to a fake bank website.
