The commander of the 23rd Artillery Regiment, Colonel Grzegorz Potrzuski, symbolically presenting weapons and military booklets to representatives of the four platoons of the training company, congratulated them on the distinction and wished them perseverance and success during their training:
The presentation of weapons, alongside taking the military oath, is a symbol of readiness to defend the Homeland. I would particularly like to emphasize the symbolism of the weapon, an attribute of a soldier, which serves to maintain the security and sovereignty of our country.
I sincerely congratulate you and thank you for deciding to link your future with our army, the army of the Most Illustrious Republic. From the bottom of my heart, I wish you perseverance in acquiring military skills, and I hope that after completing your preparatory service you will join the ranks of the soldiers of our unit.
The following received weapons from the regiment commander:
- private first-class trainee Sebastian Gerak
- private first-class trainee Maciej Wilk
- private first-class trainee Jacek Myszohraj
- private first-class trainee Marcel Pietrzaszewski.
The remaining preparatory-service soldiers destined for the private soldiers’ corps received weapons from the company commander, Captain Artur Wojtaszyn, during formations held in the training subunits.
Later in the assembly, Colonel Potrzuski welcomed graduates of officer schools beginning service at the Bolesławiec unit, as well as cadets of the Military University of Technology carrying out command internships. At the end, the head of the Physical Fitness and Sports Section, Major Jakub Wołyński, summarized the soldiers’ competition in the regiment swimming championships, held as part of the subunits’ competition in general sports.
In the men’s individual freestyle swimming category, Sergeant Adam Kopeć took first place, ahead of Private First Class Denis Dec and Corporal Marcin Leszczyna. In the breaststroke, Private First Class Wiktor Łodyga took first place, followed by Private First Class Mateusz Świerzewski and Senior Staff Warrant Officer Robert Mackało.
In the women’s competition, Senior Private First Class Karolina Kędzia took first place, ahead of Lieutenant Marta Majchrzak and Private First Class Karolina Jankowska.
As a team, 1st Rocket Artillery Battery 3dar took first place, ahead of the 2nd bar representation, while soldiers of the 1st Self-Propelled Artillery Squadron won third place. The winners of the top places received certificates of recognition, and the commanders of the winning subunits were presented with cups.
After “The Representative Song of the Polish Army” was played and the parade took place, the subunits began their scheduled training.
