Bolesławiec police received a report of fuel being stolen from one of the fuel stations. The officers immediately set out and located the perpetrator’s vehicle. However, the driver had no intention of stopping for an inspection; he began to flee.
The officers began a chase that moved into Złotoryja County. (Local police officers joined the operation.)
Ultimately, the vehicle ran into a police roadblock and was stopped in Bolesławiec County—all thanks to cooperation between officers from Bolesławiec and Złotoryja.
As it turned out, three residents of Bolesławiec County were traveling in the car. The 32-year-old driver was under the influence of intoxicants, and the vehicle had neither a valid technical inspection nor mandatory insurance. What is more, his registration certificate had already been confiscated earlier.
That was not the end of it. The officers found marijuana in the vehicle. Then, during further proceedings, more than... half a kilogram of cannabis was secured at the 32-year-old’s home.
The 32-year-old was charged, among other things, with fuel theft, driving under the influence of intoxicants and drug possession. He could now face up to 5 years in prison.
