It is scorching hot and a drought is ongoing. It is therefore hardly surprising that fires are occurring more frequently. Thursday, 25 July, was an exceptionally busy day both for the firefighters from the Bolesławiec County Headquarters of the State Fire Service and for the volunteer firefighters from nearby Volunteer Fire Departments.

In the afternoon, approximately one hectare of grain burned in Żeliszów. (Firefighters from Bolesławiec, Raciborowice, Warta Bolesławiecka, Stare Jaroszowice and Ocice took part in the operation, as did two firefighting aircraft).

The firefighters from Raciborowice:

In addition to the volunteer firefighters from Raciborowice, uniformed personnel from Bolesławiec, Warta and Jurków took part in this firefighting operation.

But that was not the end. OSP Raciborowice:

After returning from Jurków, at approximately 4:55 p.m., we went to Żeliszów again. There, the forester—fearing a forest fire—asked firefighters to intervene. However, no fire had occurred.
