Councillors decided to allocate PLN 1,168,050 for the purchase of an MRI scanner for the county hospital.
The councillors’ decision was preceded by a discussion. It was also attended by county governor Tomasz Gabrysiak and hospital director Kamil Barczyk, who outlined his vision for the development of the county hospital, emphasising the importance of diagnostic equipment enabling cancers to be detected at an early stage.
Magnetic resonance imaging produces cross-sectional images of internal organs in all planes. MRI also enables cancers to be detected at an early stage.
The Bolesławiec county hospital will have such equipment. Hospital patients, residents of Bolesławiec and other municipalities in Bolesławiec County will no longer have to travel to hospitals in other towns for MRI examinations.
Mayor Piotr Roman informed that the heads of the remaining municipalities in Bolesławiec County had declared their intention to co-finance the purchase of the MRI scanner. The amount of funding depends on the number of residents in each municipality. County councillors have already adopted the relevant resolution on co-financing.
City Hall:
It is worth recalling that for many years the municipal government has provided financial support both to the county hospital and to the regional hospital in Bolesławiec. To date, the county hospital has received financial assistance for the modernisation and renovation of individual departments and for the purchase of equipment, including an artificial kidney, laparoscope, gastroscope, ventilator, video endoscope, cardiac monitor, ambulance and intensive care unit equipment.
