On Tuesday, July 9, from the early morning hours, Bolesławiec police officers took part in the nationwide “Cascading Speed Measurement” operation. Traffic police checked 40 vehicles and detected 23 cases of exceeding the speed limit.
Two drivers lost their driving licenses because they exceeded the speed limit by more than 50 km/h in a built-up area.
Bolesławiec District Police Headquarters:
Cascading speed checks also prove effective on the road, where we often warn one another about the police by flashing our headlights. After the flash, we slow down, pass the patrol and subconsciously assume that we will not encounter a second police car.
The officers add:
The number of road accidents, especially those resulting in fatalities, means that Poland still occupies a high and unfavorable position compared with other EU countries. Exceeding speed limits is one of the main factors affecting the consequences of road incidents.
