The incident occurred on Monday, July 1. After a chase, officers from the Bolesławiec traffic police detained an 18-year-old resident of Bolesławiec.
The teenager failed to stop for a traffic check and began to flee. At one point, the fugitive abandoned the car and continued escaping on foot.
The Bolesławiec resident was detained. As it turned out, he had been fleeing the officers because he did not have a driving licence, while the vehicle he was driving to sell cherries had license plates from another car, was not authorised for road use and did not have the mandatory insurance.
The teenager could now face up to five years in prison.
