Four candidates applied for the position of director. The commission appointed by the Bolesławiec County Council unanimously selected Kamil Barczyk. The commission comprised: Sylwia Chruszcz, County Secretary (chair), councillor Waldemar Krysztofiak, Katarzyna Kujawińska, Arkadiusz Żądło, Tomasz Matyjewicz, physician Andrzej Żuk and Roman Jaworski, representative of the Social Council operating at the Healthcare Centre in Bolesławiec.
Kamil Barczyk convinced the commission with, among other things, his extensive specialist knowledge of financing and obtaining funds—and subsequently accounting for them—for expanding medical services, purchasing diagnostic equipment and using it optimally.
