The owners of 12-year-old Neo from Bolesławiec went to friends’ wedding and left him in the care of relatives in one of the villages in the county. Unfortunately, the dog escaped through the gate from the yard. He later returned, however.
When the owners picked up their pet, they noticed that he seemed listless. He did not want to play or eat, and he had also started limping.
They therefore took Neo to a veterinarian. As it turned out, someone had stuffed the dog with pellets. At least 20 pellets are lodged in the animal’s body, including one in… its spine.
Because of the dog’s age, the veterinarian does not want to remove the pellets, fearing for the patient’s life. (The dog might simply not survive such an operation.)
Police are looking for the criminal who used Neo as a shooting target. The perpetrator could face up to five years in prison.
