The training for uniformed classes covered by the Ministry of National Defence pilot program included tactics, terrain studies, general air defence, engineering and sapper training, communications, reconnaissance and firearms training. Every day, from reveille to lights-out, the young people learned the details of military service under the supervision of military instructors at the training ground near the barracks and other training facilities of the Bolesławiec regiment.
During the camp, the results of the training were reviewed by Lieutenant Colonel Mariusz Baranowski of the Ministry of National Defence Office for Pro-Defence Affairs. The visit provided an opportunity to exchange observations concerning implementation of the “Military Education” subject training program with class teachers and Major Jakub Wołyński, the training coordinator from the 23rd Artillery Regiment.
The culmination of the camp and the summary of the second year of training was an examination consisting of a theoretical part and a practical skills test. During the latter, the young people had to demonstrate, among other things, knowledge of the construction, disassembly and assembly of firearms, assuming firing positions, knowledge of elements of individual drill and first-aid skills.
At subsequent testing stations, students from the uniformed classes demonstrated their ability to use a compass, navigate terrain in various ways and use flag signals.
The training concluded with a ceremonial assembly on 14 June this year, during which students were presented with certificates confirming their participation in the training.
The training camp was attended by students from the uniformed class of the Kombatanci Ziemi Lubańskiej Secondary School Complex in Lubań, the Maj. Henryk Sucharski General and Vocational Education School Complex in Bolesławiec, and the Miners and Energy Workers of Turów General Secondary School in Zgorzelec.
