As the sappers from Explosive Ordnance Disposal Patrol No. 23 of the 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment from Bolesławiec wrote on their Facebook profile::
The first day of joint operations to dispose of unexploded ordnance has ended. Seven artillery and mortar shells were detected.
Let us recall. On Tuesday, June 11, a sappers' operation began at the site of a former German brickworks between Płóczki Górne and Mojesz (Lwówek County). It involves soldiers from Explosive Ordnance Disposal Patrol No. 23 of the 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment in Bolesławiec, as well as mine divers from Świnoujście.
The Bolesławiec sappers recently recovered three pieces of unexploded ordnance from the shore of the flooded excavation at the former brickworks. It then turned out that dangerous objects were also located underwater.
The operation will continue until the sappers determine that there is no longer any danger.
