Today, police operations called “Alcohol and Drugs” are underway throughout Poland. Their main aim is to “check the sobriety of as many vehicle drivers as possible and, consequently, identify and remove from the roads drivers who have consumed alcohol or a similarly acting substance.”
As a result, there will be more roadside checks and police patrols, including those in unmarked police cars.
What should you remember?
- Driving a vehicle requires the driver to have adequate psychophysical and psychomotor fitness. A driver under the influence of alcohol or a similarly acting substance may suffer an impairment of the above-mentioned abilities, consequently increasing the likelihood of causing a road incident.
- If you have doubts about your sobriety, take a test. This can be done, among other places, at the police station in Bolesławiec.
- Refuse to ride with a driver who is under the influence of alcohol or a similarly acting substance—prevent them from driving any further.
