On Sunday, 24 May, the European Street Races Bolesławiec 2009 were held. The start and finish of the competition were located in the Market Square. Everyone was welcome to participate, regardless of age, level of experience or place of residence.

More than 80 competitors took part in the children’s race. The young athletes competed over distances of 300, 600 and 900 m. Here are the names of the winners in the individual categories:

  • Martyna Olszowy from Primary School No. 4 in Bolesławiec – girls aged 7–10
  • Robert Moroz from Nowogród – boys aged 7–10
  • Klaudia Plesińska from UKS Świętoszów – girls aged 11–13
  • Radosław Augustyn from Nowogród – boys aged 11–13
  • Natalia Sługocka from Nowogród – girls aged 14–16
  • Michał Domowicz from Lower Secondary School No. 3 in Bolesławiec – boys aged 14–16.

In the overall classification, Primary School No. 4 and Municipal Lower Secondary School No. 4 emerged victorious.

More than 90 competitors took part in the main race. The overall winners were: Tatiana Medunitsa from Ukraine and Igor Żaworonok from Belarus.

A VIP race was also held that day. Jacek Dudyński and Emil Zając shared first place. Jarosław Molenda and Edward Spraski shared second place. Robert Tomczyk finished third.

Fair Play awards were also presented. They went to Kamil Niedbach and Arkadiusz Sosenko. Jacek Domowicz was recognized as the best competitor from Bolesławiec. The best female competitor from Bolesławiec was Magdalena Gałkiewicz.

The competition was organized by the Municipal Sports and Recreation Centre.
