The incident occurred in the Olszyna municipality (Lubań County). The scammer called the victim’s number. The caller initially impersonated a family member, informing the victim about an accident.
Then a second person joined the conversation. She claimed to be a police officer, confirmed the alleged family member’s version of events and said that money was needed for a lawyer.
The victim arranged with the “lawyer” to hand over approximately PLN 45,000. The female criminal was exposed because... she refused to show her identification. At that point, the woman who was supposed to hand over the money for the lawyer realized that she had fallen victim to fraud and called the police.
The 34-year-old woman from Wrocław has already been charged. She could face up to eight years in prison.
