The parish priest from Ruszów has been placed in pre-trial detention for three months. As Tomasz Czułowski, press spokesperson for the Jelenia Góra District Prosecutor’s Office, told istotne.pl, Tomasz Czułowski, on Saturday, 24 May, the Zgorzelec District Prosecutor’s Office submitted a motion to the court for the clergyman to be placed in pre-trial detention for three months. The court granted the motion.
Investigators charged the priest with committing other sexual acts against a minor. The man faces up to 12 years in prison.
Let us recall. We recently reported that on Thursday, 23 May, at around 4:00 p.m., three police cars arrived at the parish house in Ruszów (Węgliniec municipality, Zgorzelec County). As the zgorzelec.info service wrote, zgorzelec.info, “after a moment, escorted by police officers, a priest came out and left in one of the cars.”
The entire matter is reportedly connected with the storm caused by the film by the Sekielski brothers and comments both under the aforementioned film and on a local forum. (Details on the Zgorzelec news portal’s website).
At the time, the service added:
The police are not providing any information about the case for now, but we have managed to confirm that one of the mothers filed a report concerning the priest.
