On Thursday, 16 May, firefighting exercises were held near Kliczków (Osiecznica commune). In addition to uniformed officers from our county, they also involved fire service units from the neighboring counties of Zgorzelec and Lubań. (Military firefighters were also present.)

The scenario was as follows: a heathland fire broke out in an area that had once been a military training ground. The fire spread. Around 200 ha of forest were at risk of fire. What is more, a bomb-disposal patrol was also on site, and one of the bomb-disposal experts was injured.

The command of the Bolesławiec County Headquarters of the State Fire Service emphasizes that Bolesławiec County is distinctive: the areas of 10 forest districts are located here, so forest fires occur frequently. Consequently, our firefighters must be prepared for this type of operation.
