Jarosław Duda’s Lower Silesian six-point plan is?
Lower Silesia needs a representative for its interests in the European Parliament. I believe that my programme, contained in the so-called six-point plan, will persuade voters to support my candidacy. I am from here, from Lower Silesia. While working in the Polish Parliament, I always remembered this and helped resolve regional problems. I also know that Lower Silesia has many matters requiring attention, especially in the social sphere, which also need strong commitment at the European Parliament level.
If voters entrust me with the mandate of an MEP, the so-called six-point plan will be my most important list of matters to address in this work. I have included in it the key matters and projects from the perspective of Lower Silesia’s current situation: financing development projects, expanding roads and railways, combating smog in the region, equalising opportunities and addressing social issues, and finally education and the development of Lower Silesia’s economy. It is a comprehensive package whose implementation will improve the living conditions of all the region’s inhabitants.
First…
We know that the southern part of Lower Silesia—and here we are talking about more than 100 local governments—still requires very substantial support from EU funds. These funds are needed so that the counties in the south of our region can continue to develop. Therefore, I want to secure the adoption of the Sudety 2030 Strategy at the national and European levels, in the form of a support programme. This will allow Lower Silesia to develop at a uniform pace.
Lower Silesia with better transport links…
Our voivodeship is waiting for a number of important transport projects to be implemented. As a Member of the European Parliament, I will seek EU funds for Lower Silesia for these tasks. These include, for example, constructing the S8 expressway to Kłodzko, rebuilding the A4 motorway between Wrocław and Legnica, and constructing a new bridge in Głogów. Jelenia Góra and Wałbrzych, in turn, are waiting for connecting roads that will link their bypasses to the expressway network. There is also much to be done on the railways. In Lower Silesia, we need EU support to purchase new trains and renovate railway lines, for example to Karpacz, Lwówek Śląski and Stronie Śląskie. Railways are also connected with another point of my six-point plan.
That is, a Lower Silesia with clean air.
Our region needs decisive action against smog. We can no longer allow Lower Silesians to fall ill because of the often terrible condition of the air. Therefore, we must invest in the development of low-emission transport, including railways. We also need investment in modern heating systems and infrastructure that will help warn residents quickly about smog. It cannot be the case that the region lacks appropriate sensors warning of smog. The European Union can provide funds for these purposes, and I will seek them in the European Parliament.
Lower Silesia for everyone and Lower Silesia for seniors are the next two points in Jarosław Duda’s six-point plan.
I have devoted almost my entire professional life to people with disabilities. I know that they deserve all the assistance that a modern European state simply must offer them. The same applies to our seniors. In the European Parliament, I want to work on projects that will improve the system of care for seniors and people with disabilities in Lower Silesia, increase the number of care homes, and improve access to healthcare, for example in the sanatoriums for which Lower Silesia is renowned.
And that leaves the sixth, but equally important, point—Lower Silesia with high-quality education and a strong economy.
Lower Silesia has many advantages when it comes to its economy and agriculture. We must take care of them, for example by promoting them internationally, implementing entrepreneurship development programmes, and facilitating access to financing for business activity or the development of innovation. There is also much to do in education, especially after the chaos caused by the PiS “deformation” of education. As a Member of the European Parliament, I will ensure that projects expanding the educational offer for students from Lower Silesia are carried out in our region, including international exchanges.
The election is on 26 May!
Yes, so I encourage you to participate in the election and vote for my candidacy. You will find me in position number 2 on list number 3. The European Coalition fulfils the dream of a united opposition, which is why our participation in the election is so important now. This is a major choice for Poland’s future. I ask you to vote for my candidacy. Our Duda stands for responsibility, effectiveness and competence. A worthy representative of Lower Silesia’s interests in the European Parliament.
