Last Friday, a man called a resident of Warta Bolesławiecka municipality. The caller claimed to be an officer of an anti-corruption bureau. The woman received specific instructions on how she was to cooperate with the alleged police officer.
The victim went to the bank to carry out the instructions she had received from the fraudster.
However, the criminal’s entire plan came to nothing thanks to the bank employee’s vigilance and experience. Based on her conversation with the resident of Warta municipality, she concluded that the customer might be a victim of fraud.
The account was blocked and the case reported to the police. The perpetrator or perpetrators could now face up to eight years in prison.
