The authorities of the voivodeship and the heads of eleven Lower Silesian local governments signed a letter of intent (26 April), expressing their willingness to join a programme whose main objective and expected outcome is to optimise vocational education and improve graduates’ situation on the labour market.

The project will be financed by the Regional Operational Programme of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship. It will involve 58 schools from the following districts: Wrocław, Bolesławiec, Głogów, Lwówek, Lubin, Oleśnica, Świdnica and Legnica, as well as the municipalities of Legnica, Wałbrzych and Wrocław. The total value of the project, which is scheduled to begin in March 2020 and last three years, is PLN 12,650,000.

Five upper-secondary schools in Bolesławiec were selected to participate in the project: Zespół Szkół Mechanicznych, Zespół Szkół Budowlanych, Zespół Szkół Ogólnokształcących i Zawodowych, Zespół Szkół Elektronicznych, and Zespół Szkół Handlowych i Usługowych.

Signing the letter of intent entails the necessary declaration of participation in the costs. As a partner, Bolesławiec District is to provide its own contribution of PLN 142,000 between March 2020 and June 2023, including PLN 112,000 in the form of rooms made available, as well as a financial contribution of PLN 198 per trainee for internships for 150 students.

The call for applications was announced by the Managing Authority of the Regional Operational Programme. The Lower Silesian Voivodeship plans to submit the application as the lead partner.
