The incident occurred on Tuesday, 7 May, at a ceramic plant in Parowa (Osiecznica municipality).

The company employee was lighting the furnace. A so-called backdraft of smoke occurred. The man fainted.

The injured man was carried outside. (Fortunately, he regained consciousness there; firefighters provided him with qualified first aid).

As there was carbon monoxide in the plant’s rooms, firefighters evacuated approximately 100 people.

The situation has now been brought under control. The employee who was lighting the furnace was taken to a specialist hospital by an Air Rescue Service helicopter.
