On that day, representatives of the Military Blood Donation Center from Wrocław came to the Military Club of the 10th Armored Cavalry Brigade. For several hours, soldiers, residents of Świętoszów, and representatives of the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways enthusiastically completed the various stages in order to ultimately donate the precious four hundred and fifty milliliters of blood. Filling out a questionnaire, undergoing medical examinations, and collecting blood samples—these activities preceded the most important moment, thanks to which the blood could reach those most in need.
Since January this year, a branch of the “Legion” Association of Honorary Blood Donors has operated at the 10th Armored Cavalry Brigade. It is a nationwide association that brings together both civilians and uniformed services.
The blood drive on April 26 was the first event organized by this branch in Świętoszów. However, it certainly will not be the last. The soldiers’ commitment is strong, and their desire to help others is a wonderful initiative.
The founder of the Świętoszów branch of the “Legion” Association of Honorary Blood Donors, Captain Janusz Niemiec:
I have already donated blood more than forty times. It is a wonderful way to help others. It costs us little and does not harm our health, while the results are genuinely very beneficial. It is also worth noting that by donating blood regularly, we always have up-to-date test results and can therefore monitor our health.
Soldiers are happy to donate blood in order to help others. I would like to thank everyone who decided to come to the Military Club in Świętoszów today and contribute their small part to our project.
10th Armored Cavalry Brigade:
We are convinced that blood donation drives at the 10BKPanc will be organized regularly. The gift of blood is extremely valuable, which is why we encourage everyone to join the soldiers of Świętoszów.
