The Polish Teachers’ Union is suspending the strike. This means it may be resumed. As reported by Radio TOK FM:
The ZNP chairman announced that the union would not sign an agreement with the government. “We are not laying down our arms. We will not enter into sham negotiations organized by the government. We are closing the first stage of the strike. Over these 17 days, we have moved negotiations with the government forward,” he argued.
Sławomir Broniarz added:
The truth is that the strike could continue, because all teachers are ready for this and you (the government) would not be able to solve the problem with the final exams. In agreement with the students and parents, we decided to suspend the strike in order to ensure that students have the conditions necessary to complete their education.
