On April 18, at the Świętoszów Military Club, the commander of the armored brigade met with the management staff of 10BKPanc, subunit commanders and employees of the Ministry of National Defence. American soldiers currently stationed in Świętoszów, as well as representatives of local authorities, institutions and organizations, were also present at the meeting.
The Easter meeting was an opportunity to exchange good wishes. As those gathered observed a moment of reflection, the commander of the Świętoszów unit spoke. Colonel Artur Pikoń:
I warmly welcome everyone to today’s meeting. I wish you could spend these holidays in peace, contemplation and with your loved ones. Holidays spent far from one’s family are incomplete holidays.
Use these few days to rest and recuperate, so that in a few days you can return to work and service with renewed energy.
I wish you all the best, good health, prosperity, the fulfillment of all your dreams and the achievement of your plans. May this Easter be a time of peace spent with your family.
(The commander of the armored brigade also asked those gathered to convey holiday wishes to their families and loved ones.)
In accordance with Christian tradition, Major Chaplain Michał Zieliński, chaplain of the Military Parish of Saint Florian in Świętoszów, blessed the food on the Easter table. He also pointed out that these holidays should be important to every Christian because of their essence and solemn character.
Naturally, the dishes included żurek, white sausage and Easter cake. The aromas wafting through the hall were a reminder that in a few days everyone would sit at the Easter table with their loved ones.
10BKPanc:
After exchanging holiday wishes and sharing the traditional Easter egg, it was time to talk. A pleasant and warm atmosphere prevailed at the Military Club, and those gathered could forget, at least for a moment, their everyday problems, worries and concerns. A moment’s respite from service and work allowed them to feel the holiday spirit.
