There are five technical schools and the same number of vocational schools in Bolesławiec. In total, the schools provide training in 32 fields (at both technical-school and vocational-school levels). Graduates of vocational schools—provided they have made good use of the time intended for learning and acquiring qualifications—can also count on good jobs.

The favorable situation on the labor market benefits young people who want to study while also working and earning money independently. As many as 60 percent of technical-school students take up employment. Young people work on weekends and during breaks from their studies. They are even employed in the services sector, which shows that their practical skills are sufficiently advanced for them to be entrusted with responsible tasks.

This is the result of good education, certainly, but also of personal ambition. Starting work early allows young people to find out whether they have made the right choice. Or perhaps it is time to choose another occupation? Or change schools?

The opportunity to gain practical skills is provided by vocational placements abroad, for example through the Erasmus program, as well as student internships at local companies—and not only local ones.

Students at technical and vocational schools choose to undertake internships. An employer may pay an intern, which provides an additional incentive to learn and take the assigned responsibilities seriously. As many as 200 employers—from Poland and abroad—have already decided to cooperate with schools in Bolesławiec.

Through the schools’ participation in European Union educational programs, young people have access to modern technologies and teaching aids supplied to school laboratories. Recently, thanks to well-written projects that secured EU funding, teaching aids worth PLN 900,000 were delivered to schools in Bolesławiec.
