The pre-holiday period is, among other things, a time for shopping – both in stores located near our homes and in large shopping centers. The increased influx of customers into stores, shopping in a hectic atmosphere, often with the participation of all family members, including small children; the multitude of promotions, tempting offers and marketing activities aimed at shoppers’ psychology – all this means that, absorbed in shopping, we often forget about basic, even the simplest safety rules.
During this time, Lower Silesian police officers will pay attention to residents’ safety. But much also depends on us!
How not to get robbed?
- do not keep documents and money in the back pockets of trousers or in the outer pockets of a coat or jacket
- pay attention to handbags and do not leave them unattended. (Police officers appeal to women to hold handbags containing documents under their arms, which will prevent the bag from being snatched or its strap from being cut)
- if we go shopping by car, remember to secure it as well (lock the doors) and not to leave valuable items inside the vehicle.
Officers:
At the same time, we should remember about road safety so that, in just a few days, everyone can enjoy celebrating with their families. Mutual kindness and understanding among all road users – pedestrians and vehicle drivers – will certainly ensure that there are fewer dangerous situations on the road.
Police officers add:
Let us also remember that haste is a poor adviser. Let us be courteous and understanding toward others.
