Will teachers lose their jobs in connection with the closure of middle schools?
County:
Several teachers from the city middle schools being closed will find work in county schools. This will be a so-called official transfer. The educators will take up full-time positions, on at least the same financial terms.
The educators will not lose their jobs, while young people will gain excellent teachers who know industry, crafts and the labor market inside out.
A teacher of English will move to the Electronic Schools Complex; one physical education teacher and one English teacher will join the General and Vocational Schools Complex. A German teacher will work at the Commercial and Services Schools Complex, while a Polish teacher and a mathematics teacher will join I LO.
The transfer, county officials assure, is an autonomous decision made by the teachers concerned.
Local government officials add:
These highly qualified and experienced staff members—appointed and certified teachers—will guarantee the highest standard of teaching. The procedure for their official transfer to new workplaces is currently under way.
Entrepreneurs in schools?
Bolesławiec County:
Jobs in county schools are available for vocational-subject teachers. They may be people with teacher training, as well as specialists from various industries who run their own businesses but feel capable of and want to pass on their knowledge to young people. The county authorities declare that they will provide financial assistance to people without teacher training so they can obtain the appropriate qualifications.
Officials emphasize:
This is an opportunity for everyone on both sides of the classroom. An entrepreneur-teacher can fulfill themselves as a mentor or master, acquire new skills, and get to know, observe and find potential employees among the best students.
People interested in teaching vocational subjects are asked to contact school principals.
