On March 27, at around 2:00 p.m., officers from the Police Station in Ścinawa received information that a drunk mother caring for a small child might be in one of the apartments in the city.
The police immediately went to the indicated location. There, they found a 31-year-old woman and her 5-month-old son.
The child's mother smelled strongly of alcohol and was slurring her speech. As it turned out, she had more than 3.3 promille of alcohol in her system. She told the police that she had not consumed alcohol that day. Instead, she had been drinking throughout the entire previous day and night, until morning.
An emergency medical team was called and took the infant to hospital. The child's father, who was at work during the police intervention, then took care of the baby.
The woman was arrested and taken to a police cell.
When she sobered up, she was charged. At the prosecutor's request, the 31-year-old was placed under police supervision and ordered to refrain from drinking alcohol.
The woman could now face up to five years in prison.
