To improve safety in Bolesławiec County, on 26 March officers from the Traffic Division of the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec are conducting the “Pedestrian vs. Vehicle” operation.

The operation will continue until 10:00 p.m.

Police officers are paying particular attention to intersections, pedestrian crossings and main roads, as well as places where collisions involving pedestrians most frequently occur.

The main aim of the activities is to reduce incidents involving vulnerable road users.

Officers from the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec say:

Once again, we appeal to drivers and pedestrians! Only compliance with traffic regulations, combined with common sense and caution, can protect us from disability or loss of life. Responsibility for safety rests with all road users.

They add:

Remember!

When approaching a marked pedestrian crossing, a vehicle driver must exercise particular caution and give way to a pedestrian on the crossing.

Before entering a pedestrian crossing, pedestrians must remember to make sure that their behaviour will not create a risk to traffic safety.
