Once again, the women soldiers of the anti-aircraft battalion of the 10th Armored Cavalry Brigade celebrated their holiday in full combat gear while carrying out their assigned tasks.
For them, spending International Women’s Day away from their husbands or partners is nothing new. As they say themselves:
There was time to get used to it. We are soldiers, and when we put on the uniform, we were aware of the duties and sacrifices that came with it.
On this special day, the anti-aircraft soldiers of the 10th Armored Cavalry Brigade, as every year, recognized the presence of women in military service. The women taking part in the field training could feel special, at least for a moment, on March 8. The commander of the formation was the first to extend his wishes to the women of the anti-aircraft battalion.
At the morning assembly, the commander of the anti-aircraft soldiers from Świętoszów, Lieutenant Colonel Piotr Jaraczewski, expressed his appreciation for the women soldiers’ daily and demanding service, which they often have to reconcile with their duties as wives and mothers. (He extended his wishes to all the women, both those in uniform and those supporting their husbands and sons at home.)
On behalf of all the male soldiers, the battalion commander wished them not only health, prosperity and joy every day, but also smiles and satisfaction from their daily tasks and duties. The women received tulips and written wishes.
The women reciprocated by sending sincere, warm smiles to the assembled men. After the assembly ended, they returned to carrying out their tasks, which certainly are not lacking during field training.
This day was different from the others, however. The women received many good wishes, both from the soldiers present in Wicko Morskie and from those who had remained at home, hundreds of kilometers from the coastal training ground.
