Every woman who took part in the workshop agrees that it was a valuable time devoted to herself and her health. The intimate, cosy interior in the attic of the Painted Bird Language School, conversations about what prevents women from developing and fully using their potential, professionally presented knowledge, and several practical ways of dealing with fears—all of these are the workshop’s strengths.
Participants’ assessment of the workshop
“It is good to meet in a pleasant atmosphere, among women who want to change their lives, attitudes and patterns. Professional organisation of knowledge.”
“The workshop is a dose of knowledge. Time passes quickly and pleasantly in a wonderful atmosphere.”
“I am very satisfied; I got the bad thoughts out of me and felt lighter.”
“I opened up a little and think I will start working on my fears. If there were an opportunity to attend similar workshops once again, I would like to take part.”
Who leads the workshop?
The workshop will be led by the author of the story Grażyna Hanaf, who has been conducting bibliotherapy workshops since 2016. She has been invited to several dozen schools and libraries. Her stories have been promoted by the nationwide Fokus.TV and Polskie Radio RDC services, as well as on the following blogs: egodziecka.pl, qlturka.pl, naszekluski.pl, duzarodzina.pl, beznudy.pl and zblogowani.pl (Krople Szczęścia). Her stories are recommended by the Polish Bibliotherapy Association. During workshops for children in Bolesławiec, the author supported the prof. Zbigniew Religa Foundation for Cardiac Surgery Development. Grażyna Hanaf has also led workshops for women for the Polish Psychopedagogical Association.
What are the results?
The story “The Girl-Box” is a therapeutic parable that enables workshop participants to become familiar with and understand their fear. The workshop may be the beginning of building better relationships with people around them, female and male friends, supervisors or subordinates. It can help initiate conversations about fear and anxiety. It can also be an excellent integration tool. A therapeutic story can teach us a great deal—not only children.
