On Tuesday, Minister of National Defence Mariusz Błaszczak attended a ceremony for the handover of rescue and firefighting vehicles to designated military fire service units. The vehicles purchased for the Polish Armed Forces will also be used during rescue operations in civilian settings.
– For the Polish Armed Forces to carry out their tasks, they must be equipped with modern equipment. That is why today I handed over 24 military fire service vehicles. This equipment serves every day to ensure safety at airports and training grounds. This is modern equipment that will enable military firefighters to perform their duties effectively, said the head of the ministry during the handover of the new vehicles to military fire service units.
The contract for the vehicles handed over amounted to nearly PLN 23 million. The cars purchased will, among other things, ensure the required level of fire protection at airports. They will also be used to conduct independent rescue and firefighting operations and will replace older, worn-out models. The vehicles will also be used in rescue and firefighting operations, during exercises and training at military training grounds, and in difficult terrain conditions.
The military units will receive 24 vehicles, including:
2 light training-ground rescue and firefighting vehicles intended for rescue and firefighting operations during exercises and training at military training grounds in difficult terrain conditions, where heavy equipment cannot reach.
The vehicles were assigned to the 10th Armored Cavalry Brigade in Świętoszów and the 21st Central Air Training Ground in Nadarzyce.
