The workshops are intended exclusively for women and offer an opportunity to learn how to talk about their fears, including through the therapeutic parable (story) “The Box Girl”.

The workshops aim to support women in achieving their personal and professional goals by naming feelings, getting to know themselves, making connections, and sharing their experiences and ways of overcoming barriers and difficulties in a friendly, relaxing context of bibliotherapy, or therapy through belles-lettres.

“First of all, THANK YOU. The workshops took place in a very pleasant atmosphere. They addressed the fears that each of us has. It was presented in a very simple way how to deal with them. “The workshops took place in a very pleasant atmosphere. They were both expressive and calm. I liked the activities very much. I faced the fear that I had hidden until then. I am glad that I could take part in these workshops. Very pleasant company and beautiful interior. The story that was read affected me deeply; I will certainly return to it more than once. Thank you for the invitation.”

“Valuable workshops, with lots of practical (everyday) advice. I will return to them in my thoughts. A normal approach to fears—and that is good.”

Who leads the workshops?

The workshops will be led by the author of the story, Grażyna Hanaf, who has been conducting bibliotherapy workshops since 2016. She has been invited to several dozen schools and libraries. Her stories have been promoted on nationwide services including Fokus.TV, Polskie Radio RDC and on the blogs egodziecka.pl, qlturka.pl, naszekluski.pl, duzarodzina.pl, beznudy.pl and zblogowani.pl (Krople Szczęścia). Her stories are recommended by the Polskie Towarzystwo Biblioterapeutyczne. During children’s workshops in Bolesławiec, the author supported the Fundacja Rozwoju Kardiochirurgii im. prof. Zbigniewa Religi. Grażyna Hanaf has also led workshops for women for the Polskie Towarzystwo Psychopedagogiczne.

What are the results?

The story “The Box Girl” is a therapeutic parable that helps workshop participants become familiar with and understand their fear. The workshops can be a starting point for building better relationships with the people around them, female and male friends, supervisors or subordinates. They can help begin conversations about fear and anxiety. They can also be an excellent team-building tool. A therapeutic story can teach us a great deal—not only children.
