During the operation, police officers are paying attention, among other things, to:

  • the technical condition and equipment of vehicles,
  • drivers’ working hours,
  • the way cargo is transported.

In addition, officers check whether the number of passengers in vehicles used for the road transport of people exceeds the number specified in the registration certificate. They will also randomly check drivers’ sobriety.

It should be emphasized that drivers and carriers handling passenger transport bear great responsibility. The health, and even the lives, of people travelling by buses and so-called minibuses depend on their qualifications and reliability. The selection of vehicle inspection locations is based on an analysis of road traffic safety conditions and the volume of vehicles carrying out transport services on selected road sections.

The Road Transport Inspection is also joining the operation. These activities are coordinated by TISPOL (European Traffic Police Network), an international association bringing together traffic police forces.
