Officers from the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec received a report concerning the misappropriation of a woman’s handbag. A resident of Bolesławiec was travelling by bus and became engrossed in conversation with an acquaintance. When getting off, she forgot to take her handbag with her.
When the victim tried to recover her property, it turned out that the handbag had already found a new “owner”. (Public transport surveillance recorded the moment it was misappropriated).
The police established the identity of the suspect. She turned out to be a 56-year-old resident of Bolesławiec municipality. The woman was arrested and admitted her guilt. She could now face a prison sentence of up to five years.
The victim thanked the police officers profusely for recovering all of her belongings. In addition to money, her handbag contained many valuable items, including a phone, a bunch of keys, documents and a bank card.
