Therefore, to avoid misunderstandings and unnecessary stress, the District Office will keep you informed about the admission rules and schools’ preparations to accept a larger number of new students.
From the new school year, graduates of the final lower secondary school classes will study at four-year technical schools and three-year general secondary schools. Graduates of eighth-grade classes will attend five-year technical schools and four-year general secondary schools. This is the result of the education reform.
There are 24 classes for 768 lower secondary school graduates. There are 27 classes for 864 primary school graduates. These figures concern all types of schools. In both Bolesławiec general secondary schools, there will be 7 classes for young people finishing lower secondary school, 13 at technical schools and 4 at vocational schools. For primary school graduates, there will be 9 classes at general secondary schools, 14 at technical schools and 4 at vocational schools.
The Education Department of the District Office estimates that the number of first-year students in the 2019/2020 school year will be almost twice as high. There are currently 850 of them.
There is no reason for concern; everyone will find a place at a school. From 2002 to 2006, there were as many as 5,200 students in all district schools. No school was closed.
The district has funds from EU projects, which will be used to purchase additional equipment for the new classes, such as desks, chairs, teaching aids and many other items. Students will study in a single-shift system.
The young people who begin their studies in September will follow a completely different curriculum—separate for lower secondary school graduates and separate for primary school graduates. The matriculation examination will also be different. Secondary and vocational schools will be attended by children born in 2003, 2004 and 2005 who started first grade at the age of 6.
Young people from outside Bolesławiec District are very welcome. They may apply for a place in the school dormitory.
