The fact that the patient had been brought to Lwówek and later died was reported by the lwówecki.info website:

On Saturday, we reported that a patient suspected of being infected with the so-called swine flu virus (A/H1N1) was staying at the hospital in Lwówek Śląski.

The patient came to our hospital from another county after his local hospital suspended admissions to the ward. The patient was admitted with an entirely different (serious) medical condition, rather than influenza, which was detected during examinations. The staff established that it was a type A virus. However, to identify the strain and determine whether it was swine flu, bird flu or ordinary influenza, tests had to be carried out at the laboratory of the Provincial Sanitary and Epidemiological Station in Wrocław, to which samples were sent today. This information was confirmed to us by Małgorzata Barańska, President of the Powiatowe Centrum Zdrowia in Lwówek Śląski, who stressed that influenza was not the main reason for the patient’s hospitalization, but merely a coexisting illness.

The test results will be available no earlier than tomorrow. Only then will it be possible to state with full certainty whether the patient had the A/H1N1 virus. The cause of the patient’s death is an entirely separate matter, which will certainly also be investigated.
