The BMW driver, who was fleeing from the police, hit a Subaru on a bend in the road, causing it to break apart. Two people were seriously injured: the 31-year-old Subaru driver and his 24-year-old female passenger. The woman was transported by an Air Ambulance Service helicopter to a hospital in Legnica. The 31-year-old man was taken to a medical facility in Zgorzelec.
After the collision, the BMW driver got out of the car and began fleeing into the forest.
The entire incident was recorded by a police video recorder.

It is now known that the BMW in which the suspect was fleeing from the police had been stolen in Germany.
