One of the items on the agenda of the January session of the Bolesławiec County Council was a report by the county commander of the State Fire Service on the state of fire safety and fire hazards in 2018. It was presented by the deputy head of the Bolesławiec firefighters, junior brigadier Piotr Pilarczyk.

The deputy commander spoke, among other things, about the tasks for 2019. He mentioned the construction of a new headquarters for the Bolesławiec fire service. It is necessary because the current one is already heavily worn out, and the condition of the surfaces of the maneuvering yards is terrible.

P. Pilarczyk recalled that when a hailstorm armageddon occurred in May last year, and consequently the firefighters had their hands full with work—more than 200 interventions—the entire headquarters building was practically swimming.

Where is the new headquarters to be built?

There is a tendency to locate fire service headquarters outside city centers. It was initially determined that the new headquarters of the Bolesławiec State Fire Service would be built near the economic zone. From there, firefighters will be closer both to the aforementioned zone and to the A4 and A18 motorways, as well as to the bypass.
