Officers from the Bolesławiec District Police Headquarters received a report of a break-in and theft from an excavator. (The vehicle was parked in one of Bolesławiec’s housing estates, at a site where construction work is underway).
Under cover of darkness, the perpetrators wanted to steal fuel. However, they failed because they were scared off. At the crime scene, the perpetrators left, among other things, containers and a hose used to drain fuel.
As a result of the information gathered and the evidence secured, the officers quickly established who had been at the crime scene. The perpetrators were arrested. They are two 30-year-old men from Bolesławiec County.
The suspects admitted that they had acted together. They now face up to 10 years in prison.
