Officers from the Department for Combating Crimes Against Life and Health of the Legnica Municipal Police Headquarters, working jointly with provincial police officers combating drug-related crime, arrested two men during a drug transaction.
Nearly 23,000 pseudoephedrine-containing tablets were found in one of their vehicles. They were intended for use in drug production.
In addition, officers seized more than 6,000 tablets containing the same substance in an outbuilding belonging to the other detainee.
A total of nearly 12 kilograms of the substance was seized. This quantity of raw materials could produce at least 3.5 kilograms of finished methamphetamine, with a black-market value of... 350,000 zlotys.
The 36- and 46-year-old men were detained and placed in police custody. Officers seized cash—nearly 200,000 zlotys—that the men had on them, to cover potential future penalties.
The Legnica District Court ordered both suspects to be held in temporary detention. They could face up to five years in prison.
