The agreement concerns providing shelter to men from the City of Bolesławiec, the city and municipality of Nowogrodziec, and the municipalities of Bolesławiec, Gromadka, Warta Bolesławiecka and Osiecznica.
For the second time, the signatories to the agreement committed to sharing the costs of carrying out the task by granting the Bolesławiec City Municipality a targeted subsidy amounting to one quarter of the established annual amounts.
The agreement specifies the number of shelter places and the annual subsidy for each municipality:
- Bolesławiec City Municipality: 19 places – PLN 190,000
- Bolesławiec Municipality: 6 places – PLN 60,000
- Gromadka Municipality: 3 places – PLN 30,000
- Warta Bolesławiecka Municipality: 3 places – PLN 30,000
- Municipality and City of Nowogrodziec: 3 places – PLN 30,000
- Osiecznica Municipality: 1 place – PLN 10,000.
The Shelter for Homeless People is located at 32d Tysiąclecia Avenue in Bolesławiec. The facility is run by the Bolesławiec branch of the Polish Red Cross.
The shelter operates year-round and around the clock, and its purposes include meeting residents’ basic living and social needs.
The shelter’s staff undertake activation-oriented activities aimed at helping residents overcome homelessness. They support efforts to restore broken family relationships. When necessary, they motivate residents to seek treatment at an addiction clinic and begin therapy.
Residents can receive help resolving their problems and handling everyday matters, as well as free legal, psychological and medical assistance.
