At the end of December last year, the County Police Headquarters in Zgorzelec was notified of the theft of a trailer parked at one of the petrol stations in Zgorzelec County. The victim estimated the value of the trailer at PLN 40,000 and the cargo—chemical plant-protection products—at over PLN 820,000.

On 15 January, criminal investigators from Zgorzelec detained a suspect in the theft. He is a 46-year-old resident of Bolesławiec County.

Further actions led to the recovery of the stolen trailer and the detention of two other people connected with the incident: a 37-year-old resident of Zgorzelec County and a 39-year-old resident of Bolesławiec County.

Police recovered the stolen goods and secured other items that may have come from thefts.

Moreover, in a garage in Bolesławiec County where the stolen cargo was being stored, officers discovered a Fiat vehicle which, as it later turned out, had been stolen in Germany.

Two suspects were charged with burglary, while the third was charged with helping to conceal stolen property. All three were placed under police supervision.
