Last Saturday, January 12, in Bolesławiec County, three men were arrested for driving cars while intoxicated. Each of them had approximately 2‰ of alcohol in their exhaled breath.

The first driver was stopped by Bolesławiec traffic police before 7:00 a.m. in Bolesławiec. During the inspection of the 44-year-old, it turned out that by getting behind the wheel after drinking alcohol, the man had committed two offenses, as he was subject to a court-imposed driving ban.

The next arrest took place in a store parking lot. Around 11:00 a.m., a resident of Bolesławiec Municipality noticed a drunk driver and immediately took action to prevent him from continuing to drive. After taking the keys, he called a police patrol to the scene, which established that the intoxicated driver was a 50-year-old resident of Bolesławiec.

The third driver was arrested after 3:00 p.m. in Gromadka Municipality. A sobriety test of the 41-year-old confirmed the officers’ suspicions. The suspect had been driving under the influence.

Those arrested will face charges of driving while intoxicated, an offense punishable by up to two years in prison. The 44-year-old may face up to five years behind bars for violating the court-imposed driving ban.
