The incident took place during the night of January 7–8. Unknown perpetrators blew up two ATMs in Świętoszów (Osiecznica gmina), installed next to each other in the same wall. Preliminary information indicates that this time the thieves managed to steal money.

Investigative activities aimed at establishing the perpetrators’ identities and arresting them are under way. They could face up to 10 years in prison.

This was, of course, not the first incident of this kind. The previous one took place during the night of December 11–12 in Nowogrodziec, on Kościelna Street. After 2:00 a.m., unknown perpetrators tore an ATM out of the wall and stole it.

The burglars could face up to 10 years in prison.

During the night of December 9–10, an attempt was made to break into an ATM in Węgliniec (Zgorzelec County). On December 1, shortly after 2:00 a.m., someone drove a passenger car into the glass sliding doors of a Tesco supermarket in Bolesławiec.

Was this an attempt to break into the store? Unlikely, because there is staff in the supermarket at night. For this reason, there was suspicion that the driver was probably aiming at the ATM. He fled the scene, and police officers set off in pursuit.

Moreover, in mid-November we reported that a similar incident had occurred in Gromadka. In an email to the editorial office, a reader wrote:

While driving past the bank, I noticed a great many police units and a huge hole in the bank wall, where the ATM was.

Earlier, we also wrote that during the night of September 11–12, unknown perpetrators attempted to break into a Biedronka store on Wróblewskiego Street in Bolesławiec. At around 4:00 a.m., the alarm went off inside the premises. The duty officer at the County Police Headquarters sent officers to the scene.

It turned out that the perpetrators had attempted to blow up an ATM built into the supermarket wall. However, they did it so ineptly that they failed to steal anything.

It is not known yet whether these cases are connected. We will certainly return to the subject.
