The Christmas Eve gathering was preceded by a concert of the most beautiful Polish carols. The Gamma and Sonniaki ensembles from the Szprotawa Cultural Centre performed on the stage of the Świętoszów Club.

In addition to the adult performers present in the hall, little children helped create a festive atmosphere. Several-year-old girls dressed as angels helped everyone forget their everyday worries, if only for a moment. Everyone gathered at the Military Club listened and sang along with the artists, smiles on their faces.

After the concert, which lasted more than half an hour, the soldiers and Ministry of National Defence employees went to another room, where a Christmas reception awaited them.

Before everyone began tasting the Christmas Eve dishes, however, the commander of the 10th Armored Cavalry Brigade (10BKPanc), Colonel Artur Pikoń, took the floor:Artur Pikoń:

There is a day when people come together. They sit at the Christmas Eve table, recall what has happened, and exchange wishes for the coming year. It is a day that brings people together.

Today I wish all soldiers, Ministry of National Defence employees, and the people with whom the Świętoszów unit works every day satisfaction with life, joy, and the fulfilment of all their dreams.

I wish the commanders under my authority that all the tasks they plan to accomplish next year will be carried out to the highest standard. I wish the staff officers fulfilment in what they do.

May everyone who has come here to the Military Club spend this year’s Christmas carefree among their loved ones, and may the New Year 2019 bring you what you wish for.

After the commander’s speech, the parish priest of the Military Parish, Major Michał Zieliński, gave the attendees his blessing.Michał Zieliński
