A reader called us and told us that on December 10, when it rained, a… swimming pool formed on the sports field by the new premises of the special school. The reader said:
There is standing water. In my experience, I have never encountered anything like this. The foundation beneath the sports field was probably constructed incorrectly.
He assessed that “this is a tragedy and a complete mess,” because there should not be any water at all on this type of sports field.
“It’s a complete mess,” he added.
We asked county officials for comment. Secretary of Bolesławiec County Radosław Palczewski said:
We thank the portal’s reader for bringing this to our attention. However, I would like to inform you that we are aware of the water accumulation problem on the sports field. Appropriate measures were already taken last week to have the contractor make improvements in this regard.
He added:
I would also like to stress that the works have not yet been completed (they have not been accepted) and the entire area is still a construction site. If the contractor does not make the necessary improvements and the terrain levels are not maintained, the construction work simply will not be accepted.
