The sports field on Graniczna Street, known to Bolesławiec residents as “Rowek”, is undergoing a major redevelopment. The site, which has served local athletes and successive generations of residents for many years, is being transformed into a modern sports complex meeting contemporary standards.

The work is being carried out as part of the project “Creating multifunctional places for local community activity through the construction of an open track for roller skaters and inline skaters on the Boulevard by the Bóbr River and a sports field on Graniczna Street in Bolesławiec”.

The project contractor is TAMEX Obiekty Sportowe S.A. from Warsaw. The value of the construction works is PLN 5,129,222.80.

Demolition work is currently being carried out at the project site. The existing sports field and infrastructure are being removed to make way for an entirely new facility.

The most important element of the project will be a full-size football pitch measuring 110 × 61 metres, with an artificial-turf surface. This will allow the facility to be used year-round, regardless of weather conditions.

The new pitch will be equipped with energy-efficient lighting, a public-address system and monitoring to improve user safety. A two-row stand with 101 seats, dugouts for substitute players and referees, and street furniture will also be built, including bicycle racks, waste bins and information boards.

The redevelopment also covers the entire area surrounding the facility. New access paths and driveways, properly shaped embankments, fencing and ball-stop netting of various heights are planned. Modern technical infrastructure is being constructed at the same time, including electrical power and lighting systems, CCTV monitoring, a public-address system, as well as lightning-protection and grounding installations.

Once the project is complete, “Rowek” is intended to once again become one of the most important places for sporting activity in Bolesławiec. The modern infrastructure will provide better conditions for training, competitions and sporting events, while preserving the unique character of a place that has been an important point on the city map for decades.
