The woman was deeply moved that, in the 21st century, a child had to beg for food for her family. The girl was well-groomed and clean, but she was kneeling on the cold floor, which put her at risk of catching a cold.
“I called the police; they did not have a patrol car available to respond at that moment, and I did not like that answer,” our reader told us. “I do not know what problem this girl has or whether her mother is raising the children alone, but it cannot be that a child was kneeling and begging for help in front of Tesco before 7:00 p.m. Something is not functioning here,” the woman, deeply affected by the whole situation, added.
We asked the police spokesperson about the situation. She told us that a patrol went to Tesco that evening as soon as it was possible. The girl turned out to be a 19-year-old from Jelenia Góra. She was cautioned that begging in public places is an offense.
