It appears that about a day after the burglary in Wykroty, where brazen thieves once again used a car to ram the storefront of a Dino store and stole alcohol and cigarettes, the burglars struck again. And once again, it was a Dino store—this time, however, in Chocianów Municipality (Polkowice County). This information was confirmed in a conversation with istotne.pl by senior sergeant Przemysław Rybikowski, press spokesperson for the County Police Headquarters in Polkowice.

Measures aimed at apprehending the burglars are under way. The perpetrators could face up to 10 years in prison.

Importantly, similar incidents also occurred on the night of July 9–10 and at the beginning of August. And precisely in Wykroty, near Nowogrodziec! Moreover, this type of crime occurred in Zgorzelec and Legnica counties.

In August, we wrote:

Could this be the same gang that found an illegal way not to pay for alcohol and cigarettes? But why have they singled out the Dino chain?

We returned to the matter in September. At the time, we reported that criminal investigators from Zgorzelec had been working for a long time on cases involving burglaries at local stores in Zgorzelec County and neighboring towns.

The group of thieves operated at night. They broke in using hammers and a car, forcing open entrance doors and driving inside. The driver stayed in the car while the others stole goods.

The perpetrators stole mobile phones, televisions, alcohol and cigarettes. The total value of the stolen items exceeded PLN 80,000. The losses were greater, however, because the perpetrators smashed windows to enter the stores.

Through a thorough analysis of the collected evidence and operational activities, criminal investigators from Zgorzelec and Bogatynia identified individuals who might be connected to these crimes. On September 4, together with police officers from Wrocław, they detained a 19-year-old woman from Lubań County and two men from Zgorzelec County, aged 37 and 39.

At the suspects’ homes, officers secured, among other things, a hammer that the perpetrators used to smash windows in the robbed stores. In addition, the woman and one of the men had drugs in their possession.

The court ordered the detention of all three for three months. The suspects now face up to 10 years in prison.
